Gulmina Malik

Gulmina Malik was born in Pakistan. She completed her Bachelors degree in Electronics engineering from COMSATS, Pakistan (2014-2018). And she received a campus Bronze medal for her high achieving performance in Bachelors. After that she did the Master of Science degree in Electrical engineering from National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Pakistan (2018-2021).  Her thesis work was based on Implementation of merging engine in virtual Passive Optical Networks using the network simulator NS-3. She has also worked as a Research Associate in NUST and has worked on Software Defined Optical Networks (SDON) as part of the project and was a part of setting up the Optical Network and Technologies (ONT) Lab. She has a work experience of 3 years in the corporate sector. She also has one publication in the Asia Conference on Photonics 2021.

She is currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering at Politecnico di Torino with the Optical Communications (OptCom) research group in collaboration with Infinera.
