Riccardo Schips

Riccardo Schips was born in Turin, Italy, in 1999. He pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino in 2021. Subsequently, he obtained a Master’s degree in Communications and Computer Networks Engineering (CCNE) from the same institution, with a thesis titled “Optical Network Control Exploiting Open Interfaces.”

Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. at Politecnico di Torino, specializing in optical communications within the PLANET team. His research centers on the control of disaggregated and partially disaggregated optical networks, with a particular focus on integrating software interfaces to ensure interoperability among all devices and services within an optical network.
